Nestled in south Charlotte, Starmount is a highly desirable neighborhood with mature trees, lush greenery and beautiful wildlife that we consider our neighbors. The tranquility, beauty and maturity are favorites among residents.
Located just minutes from South Park, Ballantyne, Montford, South End, Lower South End and a short drive to Uptown Charlotte, Starmount is centrally located to everything! Bookmarking both ends of Starmount you will find the Lynx Blue Line Light Rail Stations (Arrowood and Archdale) that provide access to various parts of the city, along with a car-free commute for many residents.
Having in-neighborhood access to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway (XCLT Trail) from Rockledge Drive connects us to our neighbors across the creek in Huntingtowne Farms as well as Park South Station. With access to Huntingtowne Farms Park, many Starmount residents enjoy playing basketball, running, biking or walking with their dogs along the greenway. The current construction on the greenway is planned for completion in 2018, adding direct access to Archdale Drive, Park Road Park and Marion Diehl Park. In three years Starmount will see even more connections as the greenway will expand south to Pineville and north with connections to Freedom Park – all part of the XCLT Trail.
We’re lucky to have a neighborhood church – Starmount ARP Church – that provides many amenities to our community – church services, free soccer clinics on Saturdays, free ESL classes, community gardens and more. Our neighborhood school – Starmount Academy of Excellence – is also convenient for students to walk to and from school.
Unlike many old Charlotte neighborhoods, we’re proud to host a private swim club in the neighborhood – Starclaire Swim Club – for residents to enjoy with the most affordable membership rates in town, down-to-earth members and laid-back atmosphere.
